I wanna adsend and im lvl 8...anyone can teach me how can i kill my mirrior? what skills to use? Please?

You can ascend by going back and doing the missions and getting to a higher lvl. If you ascend at this point you wont be lvl 20 neways so why bother, but if you insist on trying to ascend at that lvl, just backfire him to death with domi skills.

The fact that you have to ask this is a great indication that you should do everyone you may party with in the future a favor, and go back and do the quests and missions to learn about your character's two professions!

Just backfire, no other skills? Doh, how does backfire work? When your foe has backfire on him, he will take damage every time he tries to cast a spell. Now, if you fight your doppel and only equip backfire, then your doppel ALSO only has equipped backfire. So what spell will your doppel be casting so as to hurt itself because of the backfire?

I went with Backfire, Illusion of Weakness, Shatter Enchantment, Laugh at Stupid Doppleganger.
He will cast through Backfire, and he will hurt himself with Illusion, which you can then shatter to prevent him getting the heal, plus doing more damage.

1. backfire has a long recharge, so only taking backfire with you would be pointless as it wears off before it recharges and he'll have nothing to trigger the backfire.

2. shattering illusion of weakness DOES trigger the heal... when illusion of weakness ends, no matter how it's triggered, you get healed. that's the point, no?

3. use backfire, empathy and some spammable pointless skills that wont' hurt you when he uses em.

4. honestly, stop getting run places and learn to play your character.

oh, and coolsti, your cat is cute.

Really? He just kinda died for me (I used this just last night), and all i cast was backfire and shatter. The only thing i can think of was he hit 0 from the backfire due to his casting and from my shatter applied to illusion, and didnt get the heal cause you can get healed from dead.
Oh well, I ascended in about 15 seconds no matter the cause

I acended from lvl 6 --> lvl 17 i think it was 17 all i did was take all my heals off so dopple only has heal sig then use aura of faith + Balths aura + symbol of wrath, when hes half dead hes going to use heal sig thats what you use leech signet to intrupet him its easy

Im not sure if they changed this but Ive always used Healing breeze because the Dopple doesnt know or didnt know how to use it. Otherwise I would level some, maybe to 13 or 14 because its easy to level after u ascend, just go do some quests in sorrows furnace. For mesmer skills, just bring something that wouldnt deal alot of dmg back to you.

Edit: I like what Caelus mentioned about Illusion of weakness+shatter Enchantment, I would try that first.

Seriously why do you want to ascend and go into the harder missions of the game at a lvl 8? take your time, learn to play your char and ascend later. I dont care how hard up GW is for monks, youll still not get a group at lvl 8 in Iron Mines or THK and even if u do ascend, you wont jump to lvl 20. youll be like lvl 16 or 17 and u still wont get a group.

agreed. not to mention, if you don't even know how to use the skills currently at your disposal, you will be next to useless in any group.

This is innacurate...I beat my mirror at lvl 15 with my Mo/R, and I was automatically leveled to lvl 20 when I beat it.

/signed, level up and learn how to play first.

I ascended my level 20 elem/mo last night and equipped healing breeze, retribution and conjure flame for me to use. I tossed in each of the attunements so he would waste time casting them.

Then just shot him and reflected his damage back. I never even had to use HB. Same way everyone with monk as a profession should do it.

just because you got to lvl 20 at lvl 15 through ascension doesnt mean its an instant lvl 20 for anyone who ascends. if you are under lvl 15 and you ascend, you will not be lvl 20 afterwards, unless you get bonus as well.

as for the mo/me strat, best thing i found to do was to bring the following:

healing breeze
bane signet
signet of judgement

its incredibly easy to predict when he is going to cast bane signet and SoJ, so just time your own sigs to go off while he is casting his and interrupt him with the knockdown, and of course, he never uses healing breeze, so feel free to always have it on you :P

btw, its incredibly easy to predict when he uses his sigs because he uses them as soon as he possibly can every time.

You get 50000 xp for beating your dopple. At level 15, that should give you just enough xp to level to 20. If you were a couple levels lower (I think ~12 is the breaking point, but I haven't done the math), then you would not get to 20.

To the OP... ugg... go back to ascalon city and learn how to play.

To the OP:

Do you know what the point of fighting the doppleganger is and why you ascend when you defeat it? You defeat it by using the knowledge you've gained about the skills that you've accumulated. Now you have to use all that you know and put them together in a way to defeat a single foe. It is a test whether you've mastered the skills of your chosen profession. If you cannot conceivably come up with skillsets out of the skills you've acquired to attempt to defeat your enemy, then you should not be at this part of the game.

Do you honestly believe that you or your character are capable of playing the role of a monk primary in a party in the missions ahead?

But this is probably falling on deaf ears.
